June 29th, 2001 - Update on the guys, posted a few days at at the american gymnast message board by Sandy Hamm
Paul's ankle gave out during the round-off of a double double into the pit at IGC, Saturday June 23. From X-rays it looks like it had been stressed for some time.
He is having a screw put in the distal tip of his tibia to secure it. This treatment approach is being followed so that he can return to the gym at full strength as soon as possible. His doctor is Pat McKenzie, a Green Bay Packer orthopedist who has treated other Wisconsin Olympians (skaters). By securing the bone this way Paul can be in a removable boot in a couple weeks, and begin range of motion and rehabilitation exercises.
Morgan landed on the back of his arm doing a double back on P-bars and injured his axillary nerve. He is already on the road to recovery, but the timeline for 100% recovery is uncertain. Tests today should help know his recovery schedule.
Both Paul and Morgan continue to train. Morgan, of course, is getting even stronger in the lower body and is working hard to rebuild the strength in his left deltoid, and Paul is working upper body, particularly ring strength (no swinging until the screw is in).

November 1st, 2001 - Congrats to Paul who finished 7th in the All Around! Paul was in the top 3 spots through the whole competition until the last rotation when a miss on high bar dropped him down to 7th. Finishing 7th was an accomplishment, Stacy Maloney says:
"Paul is coming back from a broken ankle and didn't really have time to properly prepare for this competition, so he did fantastic. The fact that he was in there to win going down to the last routine shows what kind of a gymnast he is. It's going to be a positive experience because he knows that he just needs to keep doing what he's doing and he is going to win eventually."
Paul scored a 9.425 on floor, 9.312 on Pommel Horse, 9.362 on rings, 9.337 on vault, 9.112 on Parallel Bars, and an 8.787 on High Bar for an all around total of 55.335. Paul finished just 0.012 ahead of Dae Eun Kim from Korea in tonights competition. August 19, 2004 - After a day of celebration, Paul has continued to make his name known throughout the world. He didn't even need his pass to get into the Olympic Village last night, the security guard reconized him from TV. Although with all the fun, it didn't stop Paul from training, at 7:00 PM Tonight, he, Morgan, and coach Miles Avery hit up the gym to workout. Competition will resume on Sunday with the floor and pommel horse finals.
The Korean National Federation has put up an appeal against the start value of the parallel bar routine of Yang Tae Young. The FIG Says the scores cannot be changed after the medals are awarded, none the less, the new score would not be high enough to knock Paul out of the gold position.
August 21, 2004 - Today the Athens jury ruled that the start value of Yang Tae Young had indeed been lowered during the competition, although no protest was filed in time, changing nothing in the standings. Although three officials have been suspended. Paul and Morgan compete tomorrow in the floor competition. Good Luck!

In a breaking news conference this morning, the FIG Made a request that Paul return his All Around Medal to Yang Tae Young. The USOC Followed up that request by saying "The USOC finds this request to be improper, outrageous and so far beyond the bounds of what is acceptable that it refuses to transmit the letter to Mr. Hamm," (AP). Paul will not be returning his medal, and has full support by the USOC In the decisions that have been made.
